Explore our full line of specialized sewage, effluent, grey water, and water purification technologies.
Earlier before structured systems were engaged, domestic wastewater generated from residential and commercial complexes was generally disposed of either in pits, open ground, or surface water bodies. As population increased, rapid industrialization and urban development resulted in the accumulation of waste in densely crowded habitations.
In order to protect public health from offensive and injurious substances, it has become a necessity to treat domestic wastewater/sewage before letting it into surface streams.
The water/wastewater treatment system consists of compilation, transport, and treatment of sewage/wastewater along with its safe disposal. It thus became necessary to establish centralized as well as decentralized domestic sewage treatment plants. After the treatment of domestic wastewater/sewage through secure processes, the next step is its safe disposal or recycling.
Key Technologies of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP):
Grey water is all the wastewater generated in households or office buildings from streams without fecal contamination, i.e. all streams except for the wastewater from toilets. Sources of grey water include sinks, showers, baths, washing machines, or dishwashers. As grey water contains fewer pathogens than domestic wastewater, it is generally safer to handle and easier to treat and reuse onsite for toilet flushing, landscape or crop irrigation, and other non-potable uses.
The application of grey water reuse in urban water systems provides substantial benefits for both the water supply subsystem by reducing the demand for fresh clean water and for the wastewater subsystems by reducing the amount of wastewater required to be conveyed and treated. Treated grey water has many uses, for example, toilet flushing or landscape irrigation.
Inquire GWTP SystemEffluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a type of wastewater treatment plant method which is used to purify industrial wastewater for its reuse and which results to give safe water to environment from the harmful effect caused by the effluent.
Industrial effluents contain various materials depending on the type of industry. Some effluents contain toxic materials and some contain oils and grease materials. Effluents from food and beverage factories contain degradable organic pollutants. Since industrial wastewater contains a diversity of impurities, specific treatment technology called ETP is required.
The ETP Plant works at various levels and involves various physical, chemical, biological, and membrane processes to treat wastewater from different industrial sectors like chemicals, drugs, pharmaceuticals, refineries, dairy, ready-mix concrete plants & textiles, etc.
Primary Objectives & Benefits of ETP:
Filtration plants are used to remove suspended solids. It includes Pressure Sand Filter (PSF) & Activated Carbon Filter (ACF) along with a disinfectant dosing system.
Filters remove turbidity and suspended solids lesser than 10-20 microns size. It provides very efficient particle removal under high filtration rate conditions. Also, it helps to remove odor and color from water.
Filters consist of a composite pressure vessel with frontal piping and manual/auto valves, a top distribution assembly to distribute the incoming water uniformly throughout the cross section of the filter, and a bottom collector assembly to collect filtered water. Different layers of sands are used as the filter media. Under-bed supporting media (gravels and pebbles) support the bottom distribution assembly & media. Periodically, cleaning of the filter is done by backwashing: water is introduced in the reverse direction of the service flow from the outlet nozzle upward, causing suspension of turbid material in the filter bed and flushing it out through the backwash valve.
Get Filtration QuoteFiltered water after filtration is fed to the Water Softener to remove hardness.
Hard water contains an excessive amount of Calcium & Magnesium ions, which can be removed by adding lime (CaO), and sometimes Soda Ash (Na2CO3) to precipitate them as Carbonates, Hydroxides & Oxides.
Softener plants work on the principal of Ion Exchange. It is designed with special Cation exchange resin. After resin exhaustion, it requires regeneration with brine solution, after which it is ready for continuous reuse.
Request Softener QuoteUltra-filtration is a unique pressure-driven physical separation process in which water is passed through porous (partially permeable) membranes with pore sizes in the range of 0.1 to 0.01 micron. UF membranes are in the form of long hollow fibers. The result is highly pure water free from physical and biological contaminations.
We design Plants for a variety of industrial & commercial applications requiring high quality equipment with fast delivery and competitive prices. These pre-engineered, pre-assembled, and factory-tested units minimize installation and start-up time. With simple utility connections and easy-to-set-up controls, the UF plant is ready for quick online service. The control system is an advanced microprocessor-based system that is very easy to use.
Get UF System DetailsWhen a semi-permeable membrane separates two aqueous solutions of different concentrations, the solvent travels from the dilute solution to the concentrated solution. This phenomenon, called osmosis, continues till equilibrium is reached between the two solutions.
In reverse osmosis, the flow of solvent (water) is reversed by application of external pressure to the concentrated solution (brackish or saline water). The water that passes through the membrane is substantially free from chemical impurities present in brackish or saline water. The water that passes through the membrane is called permeate or product. The water that does not pass through the membrane and is continuously drained is called concentrate or reject. The ratio expressed as a percentage of product flow to feed water flow is called the recovery.
Since the membrane contains many fine pores, its performance is likely to deteriorate if these are blocked by suspended matter or scale-forming salts of calcium or magnesium. This is prevented by proper pre-treatment of water before it enters the reverse osmosis unit.
Get Commercial RO QuoteDemineralization is the process of removing mineral salts from Water by using the ion exchange process.
Demineralized Water (also known as Deionized Water) is water that has had its mineral ions removed. Mineral ions such as cations of sodium, calcium, iron, copper, etc., and anions such as chloride, sulphate, nitrate, etc., are common ions present in water. Deionization is a physical process which uses specially-manufactured ion exchange resins that provide ion exchange sites for the replacement of mineral salts in water with water-forming H+ and OH- ions. Because the majority of water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces high purity water generally similar to distilled water, quickly and without scale build-up.
De-mineralization technology is a proven process for treatment of water. A DM Water System produces mineral-free water by operating on the principles of ion exchange, degasification, and polishing. DM Water Systems find wide application in steam, power, process, and cooling industries.
